Summer Camps 2019

DreamBox Theatre is offering two different summer camp programs this year. The camps are different in themes, however they follow the same schedule: 5 days of camp with a culminating performance on the final day that is open for the family to come see! The camp schedule includes students rotating through classes based on their age group. Students take classes in acting, visual arts, and singing/ dancing. There also is time in the schedule for creating costumes, props, scenery, and  playing theatre games. A DreamBox musical includes activities that enrich the stories performed, stretch the students’ imaginations and promote creative problem- solving.

DreamBox Theatre Summer Camps are open to all Hall County area students.

They will take place at the World Language Academy Primary Campus (4670 Winder Hwy, Flowery Branch GA 30542)

We are also this summer premiering a bilingual summer program internationally in San Miguel, Mexico! We are doing a Latin adaptation of Wizard of Oz story entitled Lost & Found.

Registration is open for rising K- 8th grade (grouped according to age) We anticipate full registration so be sure to save your spot!

Camp 1: Unicorns & Dragons

Hear ye, hear ye, calling all knights and princesses! Join us for a camp of musical fairy tales starring unicorns and dragons. Students will take classes each day in stage combat (including very important skills such as dragon slaying), stage make-up (who doesn't love unicorn slime?), singing/ dancing and acting. Students will become masterful story-tellers as they relive tales of medieval times with dungeons, mystical creatures and "happily ever after"! Come sing and dance, and even make scenic elements: a castle and dungeon with us.

Camp 2: Let's Have a Broadway Ball

Join us for a camp that takes us to the Big Apple where we will all see our names in lights! A bizarre summer hurricane hits the island of Manhattan NY. Tourists are disappointed to find out that all of Broadway has gone dark and they are not able to see the latest greatest Broadway show premiere. They meet up at a Times Square pizzeria where the stars bring their talents to the table. Made to order, this is an epic pizza party with singing, dancing and a side of calzones. Broadway boot camp, here we come! With solo coaching, singing, dancing, acting and creating props/ scenery- you will stay very busy becoming a star!

A Bilingual Latin Musical Adaptation of the Wizard of Oz story

DreamBox Theatre is going abroad for our 2nd bilingual summer program in San Miguel de Allende Mexico. This Latin urban musical theatre adaptation of the classic story Wizard of Oz and features Dulce who lives with her family, friends and chihuahua named Taco in Mexico City. After a subway ride that wildly carries them off the tracks to a faraway whimsical land resembling San Miguel, Dulce meets and makes friends with some colorful characters. Among these characters, are a performer with no audience, a chef with no imagination and an old man who can't read. This journey leads her on a quest to help her new-found friends and find home. This 5 day summer program will include students taking classes in visual arts, music/ dance, and acting. On the last day there will be a culminating public performance at the San Miguel Playhouse for the community to enjoy.
