SPONSOR A CHILD

DreamBox Theatre provides children's programming to hundreds of elementary age students annually. Last summer was our first summer camp program in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We had 40 students enrolled in the bilingual musical theatre program and 75% of them were sponsored by people like YOU. The program was a success because of your support. We partnered with Casa Hogar (the girls orphanage in San Miguel) and also a literacy program at the Biblioteca to find Mexican children and families who could benefit from the scholarship program. We provide a 5 day arts experience in visual arts, acting, singing, and dancing for children who would not have the financial means to do this otherwise. The camp included children speaking Spanish as their native language and some children speaking English as their native language. Our goal was to also use the theatre arts to build bridges in the San Miguel youth community. On the final day we have a culminating musical theatre performance that is open for the community to come see! There also is time in the schedule for creating costumes, props, scenery, and  playing theatre games. A DreamBox musical includes activities that enrich the stories performed, stretch the students’ imaginations and promote creative problem- solving. The final performance will be at the San Miguel Playhouse on July 19th.

You have the opportunity to help a local family out by sending a kid to camp by donating $1200 MXN ($60 USD) for 1 child or $2200 MXN ($110 USD) for 2 children.

Sponsors will be invited to attend the final performance. We will also keep you informed on the entire theatre arts experience through photo and video clips we will share in July! Make your donation and give a child the gift of theatre this summer. This summer we are producing a Latin adaptation of The Wizard of Oz entitled Lost and Found starring Dulce and her friendly dog Tito who live in Mexico City but are swept away on a lost subway car to an enchanted magical village resembling San Miguel de Allende. The musical is colorful with various Spanish style songs and a Spanish script.
