DreamBox goes to

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

July 2018 we launched our first ever international educational theatre program in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We provided a bilingual summer program for local children to immerse in the fine arts of producing a musical. We partnered with the San Miguel Playhouse for the program and 40 local Mexican children graced their lovely stage.

We produced our very first bilingual musical and now we are HOOKED. It was an original DreamBox production: Super Hero, the Musical! and it starred super heroes in training learning valuable melodramatic lessons about what it takes to be super! The program had a Visual Arts class that created the scenery, costumes and props. The program also had teachers who specialized in acting/ directing, singing and dance working with the youth performers. We are already planning the summer program for 2019. The playwright was inspired last summer by the city of San Miguel de Allende. We will be showcasing a Latin adaptation of the Wizard of Oz story. It will be set in Mexico City and a runaway subway car carries Dulce to the land of Oz: an enchanting mystical, mountainous region resembling San Miguel.
